WATERFALL TRAIL
| DIFFICULTY: MEDIUM TO HARD |
| |
 |
| |
The most popular trail area with three challenges. On the average, this trail can take 3 - 5 hours, depending on
the group. Various routes can be taken to drive a medium to hard line to access the first obstacle, The Ridge. Remember your camera for this area! The scenery is breathtaking!
The Ridge is a little wider than your vehicle with a drop off on each side. It is a couple of hundred feet long and brings you directly to the Bump-N-Dump.
If you don't have lockers, then have a tow strap ready just in case your tires lose grip when attempting the Bump-N-Dump. Beware the name; obstacle known for broken parts. An alternate route can be taken with minimal incline to access the top of this area. This is fun to watch!
Several lines can be chosen to enter the Water Fall. Your choices are straddling a deep creviced area or descend down a steep granite dome sporting a hole at the top. After entering the Water Fall, you may choose to straddle the crack path, or there is an alternate route around this. This particular crack has been known to pop tires and scratch paint when tires are not placed high enough on crack's side.
Short and long wheeled based rigs have different strategies of coming down the actual Water Fall. Rigs tend to scrape through here and some have become tipsy, others have busted parts. This particular area enhances your off-camber techniques and helps you become aware of your roll-over point.
For inexperienced wheelers, Waterfall Trail is the place to build confidence and enhance your wheeling abilities. Good spotters can get you through it all.
